Aemond Targaryen House Of The Dragon Season 2

House of the Dragon's Aemond Targaryen Survived Season 2 Premiere's Cliffhanger

Mitchell Discusses Character's Future After 'Shocking' Ending

'It's a Testament to How Great the Writers Are,' Says Actor

In a shocking twist that left viewers on the edge of their seats, Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) emerged from the wreckage of the Season 2 premiere of "House of the Dragon" alive and well.

After the previous season threatened to kill off the one-eyed brother to King Aegon II, Ewan Mitchell sat down with reporters to discuss the character's survival and the future of the series.

"It's a testament to how great the writers are that they can create a scene that is so shocking and yet so satisfying," Mitchell said. "It's a moment that will stay with viewers long after they've finished watching the episode."

While Aemond survived the assassins' attack, his future remains uncertain. Mitchell hints that the character will be haunted by the events of the premiere.

"Aemond is a complex and flawed character," Mitchell said. "He's made some bad decisions in the past, but he's also capable of great love and loyalty. I think the events of this episode will force him to confront his own demons and make some difficult choices about his future."

The second season of "House of the Dragon" is set to explore the growing conflict between the Greens and the Blacks, the two factions vying for control of the Iron Throne. Mitchell believes that Aemond will play a key role in the upcoming civil war.

"Aemond is a powerful warrior and a skilled dragonrider," Mitchell said. "He's also fiercely loyal to his family. I think he'll be a major player in the war that's to come."
