Matt Brown doesn't believe UFC favors Sean O'Malley: "UFC is a monster f*cking brand" with or without him

Matt Brown and his blunt assessments are back!

In a recent interview on the “Weighing In” podcast, Brown discussed the UFC’s promotional efforts behind rising star Sean O’Malley. While many believe the UFC is heavily invested in O’Malley’s success, Brown doesn’t share that view. He believes the UFC is a massive brand that doesn’t rely on any single fighter for its success.

“The UFC is a monster f*cking brand,” Brown said. “They don’t need Sean O’Malley. They don’t need Conor McGregor. They don’t need any of these guys. They’re going to be fine. They’re going to make money regardless.

Brown acknowledges O'Malley's talent but believes the UFC's machine will continue to churn.

Brown also acknowledged O’Malley’s talent and potential, but he doesn’t believe the UFC is overly concerned with his success or failure. He believes the UFC has a proven track record of creating new stars and will continue to do so regardless of O’Malley’s trajectory.

"Sean O’Malley is a great fighter, but he’s not the only great fighter out there,” Brown said. “The UFC has a whole roster of talented fighters, and they’re always looking for the next big thing. If Sean O’Malley doesn’t pan out, they’ll just move on to the next guy.

Brown's comments highlight the competitive nature of the UFC and the constant search for new talent.

Brown’s comments underscore the highly competitive nature of the UFC and the organization’s relentless pursuit of new talent. While some fighters may receive more promotional support than others, Brown believes the UFC ultimately values fighters who consistently deliver exciting performances and contribute to the sport’s growth.
